I carefully scraped off the excess glue on the under side of the fans and around the stators. I decided to take a look, and WHAT DO YOU KNOW. I then found some folks mentioned that fan noise can be attributed to excess glue in the fan assembly. ![]() So the RMA option was unacceptable to me. ![]() A new fan is $14 on ebay, and it would cost $20 to ship my laptop not to mention the inherent risk of losing data, or damage. I told them it would make more sense to just send me the parts, but they insisted this was because of part availability (which makes no sense at all). I submitted a support ticket with MSI who wanted me to RMA (send in my computer). ![]() ![]() It later turned into an awful grinding sound, and the fan would stop/start repeatedly. Then the CPU fan started to make a very obvious and loud vibration. ![]()
